With my Professorial Chair, entitled 'Strategic Design for Technology-Based Innovation', I focus on strategic issues regarding products and services using new technologies. Think of 'Internet of Things', big data, blockchain and 3D printing. Consider questions like:

• How does this technology change the way we do business?

• Which new business models does this technology enable?

• What are the fears of users and other stakeholders that need to be overcome?

• In what products and services will this technology be used first and what does the roadmap look like?

TU Delft is in the top 10 of Thomson Reuters' European Top 100 Most Innovative Universities Ranking. When this list was first released in June 2016, Thomson Reuters organized a panel discussion for their clients, broadcasted through a live stream. Being one of the panel members, we discussed innovation in Europe, how to link universities and businesses, and entrepreneurship.

Bike sharing returns. Like in many big cities, free floating bikes from Chinese bike sharing operators triggered a public debate in Amsterdam. A few months after they were launched, the bikes were forbidden by the city of Amsterdam. In March 2018, they will return. I’m one of the experts in this round table discussion on the pros and cons of bike sharing.

Brainstorming: tips & tricks by Sunidee

The faculty of Industrial Design Engineering launched its first Massive Online Open Course (MOOC) on the EdX platform in 2015, titled “Product Design: The Delft Design Approach”. Over 10,000 people participated in the initial release. As an experienced practitioner, and co-founder of Sunidee, I shared some tips & tricks on brainstorming. You can still take the entire course on EdX (for free!)
